ObituaryEarl F. Cumpton, 90 Earl Franklin Cumpton of Eads passed away September 5, 1999, at Weisbrod Memorial Hospital in Eads. Earl was born February 3, 1909, in Blue Jacket, Oklahoma, to William Lee and Bessie Tomora Nichols Cumpton. Earl was lovingly known by his family as both AUnc@ and ACump.@ He was a farmer most of his life in the Yoder area, and always a farmer at heart. After moving from the farm to Simla, he was employed by O.K. Hamacher Well Works and Nichols Tillage Tools. Upon moving to Eads, he was employed by Don Esarey, later known as Cochran Terracing. Earl was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, and his parents. He is survived by his niece, Sue Weil and husband, Corrin, of Altamont, Kansas, and their three children, Tim, Jeff and Sue Ann, and their families. Earl is also survived by a nephew, Dolan Dixon, and wife, Linda, of Austin, Texas, and their two children, Carolyn and Walter, and their families, as well as several cousins and a host of friends. He will be sadly missed by all. Grave side funeral services were held September 9, 1999, at 10:30 a.m. at the Eads Cemetery with Rev. John Nadasi of the Eads United Methodist Church officiating. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Brown Funeral Home. |
