ObituaryClinton Browning Petry, II, 56 Clinton Browning APete@ Petry, II was born January 7, 1943, in Alexandria, Virginia, to Clinton B. and Dorothy (Chapman) Petry. He died September 8, 1999, at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs at the age of 56. Pete, as he was better known by friends and family, married Mary Catherine ACab@ Hogan April 1, 1967. To this union three children were born. Pete worked for Lockheed-Martin, where they actually paid him to play with the latest technology. He has always been a big kid, and loved to play with all the new toys B if he couldn=t play with them, he could always find a few dozen books on the subject. Please remember his kindness, his laughter, and (although he didn=t always show it) his love for friends and especially family. They say that Awhoever dies with the most toys wins,@ so, Pete, you probably won. Enjoy that big bookstore in the sky. Pete=s parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Mary; sons Clinton B. (Ildi) Petry III and E. Lee Petry; daughter, Martha Mae (Bill) Parham; father-in-law, Earl Hogan; sisters-in-law, Edna Kleeman and Ruth Ann (Herb) Tinkle; brothers-in-law, Butch (Karen) Hogan and Don (Sanae) Hogan; 13 nieces and nephews; 16 great nieces and nephews and many dear friends. A vigil service was held September 12 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kit Caron. Mass was said September 13 at the church with Father Tom Kloppenborg officiating. Tim Hogan sang music selected by the family, with Marilyn Ward accompanying as organist. Casket bearers were Eric Kleeman, Joe Kleeman, Chris Kleeman, Darrell Kleeman, Sean Hogan, Toby Hogan, Eddie Tinkle and Sean Smith. Interment was at the Kit Carson Cemetery in Kit Carson. Memorial contributions may be made in Pete=s name to the Kit Carson Historical Society or the Kit Carson Volunteer Fire Department. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Love Funeral Home. |
