For your information, Blaine, Heather and Zoe Shivers are now at Camp Pendleton, California. Blaine is now a Lance Corporal. Zoe is five months old. Blaine's parents, Rodney and Debbie are going to California to spend Thanksgiving with them.

Kim and Marcie Harkness have a new granddaughter. Her name is Carmen May Dudley, daughter of Mike and Kristen Dudley of Boise, Idaho. She was born last Friday and grandma Marcie has gone out to help for a few days. Have fun grandma!

Bernice Tuttle attended her great grandson, Trey's football game in Lamar on Saturday. That evening, she and Larry and Judy Tuttle went out for supper.

Gary Tuttle went up to visit with his son Chad and family last Friday.

J.D. and Barbara Wilson went to the Hoehne/Colbran football game last Saturday. Barb's great nephew, her sister’s grandson, plays for Colbran. They enjoyed the game and visiting with her sister and family.

Lots of family and friends from far and near came to help Olive Hopkins celebrate her 90th birthday on Sunday. Happy birthday, Olive and best wishes for many more!

On Sunday, Denis and Theresa Weber met Bill and Pat Boren, former Brandon residents, in Springfield, Colorado to visit and have lunch. The Borens' now live in Kerrick, Texas.

Last Monday, several people gathered at the Senior Citizen Center in Towner and enjoyed their annual Thanksgiving dinner.

Bucky and Fannie Murdock; Jim and MaryAnn Richardson and Hazel Woelk went to Eads last Sunday for lunch.

Don and Betty Kershner attended the regional volleyball games in La Junta on Friday, where their granddaughter plays for the Kit Carson team. Saw some good games, but Kit Carson lost out on the last game. McClave and Springfield will advance on to the state tournament.

Cora Coffman and granddaughter, Kelli Kern of Cheyenne Wells, went to Lamar shopping and out to lunch on Sunday.

The 4-12 youth group from Sheridan Lake and Towner went to Dodge City, Kansas on Saturday to attend a concert. Everyone had a good time.

Gina Schroeder, former Sheridan Lake resident, is now living in Eads and working for Prairie Pines. Welcome back to the area Gina!

We were glad to hear that little Mary Catherine Votruba is home from the hospital and feeling much better.

It was the weekend for birthday celebrations. Carol Shalberg and family hosted a 90th birthday celebration on Saturday at the Walsh Senior Center for Carol's mom, Elva Burhenn. Around 180 people were in attendance and everyone had a good time. Happy birthday, Elva!

Sunday dinner guests of Carl and Freda Schmidt were: Bryan and Dorcas Berggren and family; Tim and Debbie Harris and family; and Marvin and Linda Hamilton. A nice time was had visiting.

Susan Greenfield's dad, Norman and her sister, Casandra came down for the weekend and attended the 4-H banquet Friday evening at Plainview, where Susan was the recipient of the "Friends of 4-H" award. Congratulations Susan! On Saturday, they took in the Eads football game and then everyone went back home.

And yet, another birthday. The whole Stum clan gathered at Monte and Linda Stums’ home to help Linda and a friend, Martha celebrate their birthdays. Everyone had a good time. Kami was home from college and she and her mom and dad went out Saturday evening to the Thai Spicy Basil for supper. Kirbi was with the youth group at the concert.

Evan and Jen Hopkins spent the weekend in Woodston, Kansas visiting her family and doing some pheasant hunting.

Cheri Hopkins attended the 4-H banquet Friday night and on Saturday she went to the Granada/Nucla football game in Granada. Granada won and will advance to the quarter-finals, which will be played in Springfield next Saturday at 1 p.m. Come on out and support our boys that play with this team, and the Granada team.

I believe that most of the fall harvest is over. Now, we can go ahead and have some much needed moisture fall. Can you believe it’s November already? We’ve started working on our Christmas lights already. The blizzard last year was not kind to lots of people’s decorations, so it will take a little extra time for repairs this year. (Besides that, we move a little slower each year) Have a good week!
