Notice and Notice of Public Hearing
The Town of Haswell plans to submit a Community
Block Development Block Grant (CDBG) application to the State of
Colorado, Department of Local Affairs. CDBG funds are intended to
provide decent housing, suitable living environments and economic
opportunities, principally for low and moderate income persons through
rehabilitation and preservation, economic/job development, and public
facilities improvements.
The application being considered would request an
additional $59,000.00 for the reduction of nitrates in the Town of
Haswell’s drinking water supply by the installation of an ion exchange
system with co-current regeneration. Permanent involuntary displacement
of neighborhood persons or businesses is not anticipated.
A public hearing will be held at 5:00 p.m. on
Monday, June 13, 2005 at the Haswell Community Building to obtain
citizen views and to respond to proposals and questions related to:
• The proposed CDBG application for community
development, including the needs of low and moderate income persons, as
well as other needs in the community that might be addressed through the
CDBG program.
• The performance of the Town of Haswell in
carrying out its community development responsibilities.
Written comments are also welcome and must be
received by June 11, 2005 at PO Box 64, Haswell, Colorado, 81045. Oral
and written comments will be considered in deciding whether to submit an
application for the proposed project. Upon request, written summary
information will be available at the Haswell Community Building from
June 1 until June 13, 2005 on the CDBG application the Town of Haswell
intends to submit to the state. A copy of the request as submitted to
the state will be available for public review at the Haswell Community
Building after June 15, 2005, upon request.
Information and records regarding the Town of
Haswell proposed and past use of CDBG funds are available at the Haswell
Community Building with an appointment. All appointments may be made
through Town Clerk Sharon Pearson at (719) 438- 2007. If special
