Wild Horse Roundup

Lola Igou stopped by Monday when she saw me in front of my garage. She just wanted to say hello as it has been a long time between hellos. She was driving the Seniors Van from Eads and was taking some ladies to Colorado Springs.

Bill Skinner’s mother, Carolyn Boyer, is home from her long stay in the hospital. I stopped in today and she said she was feeling real good.

Thursday noon the community building in Kit Carson was the setting for a large crowd of guests of the Kit Carson Bank. They were senior customers of the bank and were treated to a very delicious ham dinner. There were people there from Burlington to Las Animas and all in between. The wind ensemble from the school entertained us with some beautiful Christmas music. I was told there were 128 people there. Betsy Evans was the cook and I heard the bank employees brought the salads and desserts.

Jim and Billie Lafferty have their place lit with beautiful lights and animals that he made. It is sure worth the drive to go down Main Street to see them.

Saturday noon Steve and his family came so we could be together for our Christmas. We had a delicious ham dinner in the evening and then opened the big pile of presents that were under the tree. Nathan and family are here from Mexico and we watched videos of things down there. It is fun to watch five of our great grandkids running through the house. They didn’t get here soon enough to go see Santa, but I did and got a big of candy. There was a lot of picture taking of the kids with Santa.

Today (Sunday) the Ladies Club had their Christmas dinner. As usual it was a very good meal and there was a good crowd. It was nice to see so many young folks there. I guess if men was going to club they had to go if they wanted something to eat.

We talked to Lee Ann today and she said they went out and got their Christmas tree from the woods in deep snow.

Merry Christmas!
