Hopkins Honored at SCDecember 17, 2004 Christy Hopkins, Towner, was presented a certificate by President Dick Merriman at a special dinner for scholarship recipients at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas. Hopkins, a senior majoring in mass communications and film with a minor in English, received the Fine Arts Scholarship. She participates in newspaper, television, choir, Spiritual Crescendo (an outreach praise band), and Beta Sigma Phi. She is the daughter of Cheri Hopkins and the late Jim Hopkins. Southwestern College is a private institution granting undergraduate and graduate degrees and is affiliated with the United Methodist Church. More than 1,400 students attend classes at the main Winfield campus, at professional studies sites in Winfield and Wichita, or online.
