County Commissioners Meeting November

Regular Meeting of the Kiowa County Commissioners was called to order at 9:03 a.m. on November 10th, 2004 by Chairman Harris. Brown opened the meeting with prayer. Those attending were: Vern Harris. Commissioner; Rodney Brown, Commissioner; Betty V. Crow, County Clerk; Karen Krueger, Administrative Assistant Audience: Bill Yohey, Administrative Intern; Donald Oswald. Commissioner Elect.

After the vouchers were reviewed and discussed the approved vouchers were signed.

Brown made the motion, seconded by Harris to approve the minutes of October 27, 2004 as corrected. All commissioners voted affirmative.

Bob Alverson, Assisted Living Project Manager, met with the commissioners to report on the progress of the said project which included the dirt work that has been accomplished.

Eikenberg entered the meeting at 9:25 a.m.

Eunice Weber, Kiowa County EMS Director, met with the commissioners to report on the following, to wit: (a) County plan due January 7th; (b) Retac - going to Quarterly Meetings; (c) EMS to receive 5 - 800 meg radios in Nov - share with Fire Department; (d) St Mary Corwin Helicopter - Flight For Life - Service for Kiowa County, (Proceed with possibility of Helicopter Pad); (e) Explore avenues for purchasing new ambulance; (f) Plan to recruit new EMT's and Ambulance Drivers.

Commissioners thanked Eunice for all her service and dedication as director of Kiowa County EMS and reported to her that they have received many positive comments on her efforts.

Eikenberg left the meeting at 10:10 a.m. for a Doctors appointment.

 

Harris reported on information he had received in regard to Prairie Dogs.

Commissioners will meet the 14th and the 30th of December to conduct their monthly business.

Treasurer and Clerks Reports were reviewed and filed.

Brown made the motion, seconded by Harris to approve and sign the Memorandum of Understanding with Department of Revenue and Kiowa County in regard to the Drivers License Office. All commissioners voted affirmative.

Harris made the motion to purchase a 2005 Chevrolet 4-Wheel Drive Pickup from Vince Chevrolet in Burlington, for $20,900., seconded by Brown. All commissioners voted affirmative.

Harris made the motion to purchase a Rhino Flex 15 Rotary Mower for $12.750 from Ag 1 Equipment LLC, seconded by Brown. All commissioners voted affirmative.

Eikenberg return to meeting at 2:30 p.m.

Discussion was held in regard to employees Christmas Treats. No decisions were made at this time.

Brown made the motion, seconded by Eikenberg to adjourn at 3:20 p.m. All commissioners voted affirmative.
