Wild Horse Roundup

The weather Saturday almost makes a person think that it’s November. We had a little snow, but it didn’t cover the ground, but it got wet so I guess you would say it melted as soon as it hit the ground. Sunday a little more snow.

We got a box of pecans from a friend in Arkansas. It was a good sized box, but it helped that they were cracked. I took the shells off today and Marty put them in jars and in the freezer. When you consider the price of pecans and $7.50 postage that is a nice gift.

We seen some fire trucks go by headed west Wednesday and then before long a big water tank went by. I have never heard where they were headed.

I got an e-mail letter mailed to me today from Edna Lovell of Cheyenne Wells that her daughter sent. It was a Ten Commandments Minnesota Style. The language was English, but it was like a Scandinavian talking. Pretty cute. Edna wondered if there weren’t any roads as I’m always talking about ferries in Norway. Yes, but a lot of them lead to a ferry so you keep your little book of schedules with you.

Thursday Marty and three of the girls that work with her went to Denver to shop and they went to the Convention Center. She said they had to wait in line for over an hour. There were tables and booths with all kinds of stuff. I guess you could taste some things, but she didn’t taste as she thought she would buy stuff she didn’t need. They had fun.

Friday the 19th, Lee and I will be another mile down the road together. Sixty six years ago we started out and we are still traveling together. We don’t do all the dancing we used to do or she don’t play ball anymore, we just watch it on TV. It has been and still is a happy trip.

I seen something that reminded me of the party line telephones that rang a long and two shorts etc. I stayed on a farm for a while when I was a kid in Illinois. They had some kids and when the phone would ring she told the kids to hush up and she put a dish towel over the mouthpiece and listened in.

We talked to Lee Ann Saturday and she said the weather was terrible rain, hail and wind.
