The Eads Lions Club has hosted two
Bingo Nights, one in September with the hamburger-hot dog meal and the
other November 9th in conjunction with the FBLA (Future Business Leaders
of America) and Red Cross baked potato dinner. The Lions are under the
leadership of their President Max Owens. Bill Woelk, Vice President, and
Secretary-Treasurer, Alvin Clamp, play a vital role in organizing these
projects so money can be earned for local scholarships and benevolent
projects in the community or national Lions Club. Lawrence Engstrom has
attended the State workshops to keep up with the Bingo Rules and he is
assisted by Jacob Diel, Warren Yule, and Louis James.
The Lions Club is considering having
their meetings at noon in the future; however, the usual time for meetings
is on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the Our Place meeting
room. The Eads Lions club welcome men and women to come to these meetings
to find out if they would like to be a part of this group. The next
meeting is December 7th.
Ashley Brown was the recipient of
the 2004 Lions Club Scholarship. Ashley is a student at Regis University
in Denver.

The Lions group will be having some
boxes around town for used eye glasses. Some other worthy projects in past
years is having sponsored young men to a summer camp, awarding
scholarships, selling good quality brooms and floor care products, and the
Eads Sports calendar.
Next spring they may have some type
of fishing clinic for youngsters. If people would like to join our group
or would like more information, they are welcome to call one of the people
noted in this article or myself, Doris Lessenden.
