Obituary-Carl R.N. Peterson, 89November 5, 2004 Carl R.N. Peterson, 89, of Eads, Colorado passed away on October 30, 2004 at Weisbrod Memorial Hospital in Eads. Carl was born in Cleveland, Ohio, September 14, 1915, to Adolph and Louise (Larson) Peterson. At the age of 3, he moved with his family to Colorado Springs where he grew up. He attended school in Manitou Springs and worked with his father. He held several jobs in Colorado Springs. He married Zelda White September 14, 1940 in Florence Colorado. This union was blessed with four children. He worked as an auto mechanic when they were first married. In 1942, he worked at Aircraft Mechanics in Colorado Springs until one year later when they relocated to the family farm and ranch near Eads. For the next 60 years, he farmed and ranched, drove a school bus, worked as the school bus mechanic, in construction, as an auto mechanic, and as a roughneck on an oil rig. When he retired, he enjoyed bowling and golf and was a member of the Eads Golf and Country Club. He attended the Eads United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing cards at the Eads Senior Citizen Center. Carl is survived by his wife, Zelda; children, Norman (Robyn) Peterson of Sugar City Colorado; Janette (Virgil) Kochis of Matheson, Colorado; and Charlotte (Gary) Billings of Eaton, Colorado; seven grandchildren and one great grandson. He is also survived by brothers-in-law: Glen (Joy) White of Gillette, Wyoming; Al (Rose) White of Sedona Arizona; and several cousins in the United States and Sweden. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and son, Francis. He was loved and will be missed by his family. A Private Family Memorial service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eads Senior Citizen Center in Eads, Colorado. Valley Memorial Funeral Home of Lamar was in charge of arrangements. |
