Obituary-Chester Leroy Mast, 49October 29, 2004 Chester Leroy Mast "Chet" was born to Gordon and Beulah Mast on April 7, 1955 at Eads. He passed away October 13, 2004 unexpectedly in Lamar. Chet was a life long resident of Eads and attended Eads High School. He was employed by Neo Plan of Lamar where he was a dedicated worker for 8 years. He worked at Newsham farms for four years prior to that. He worked in the family business with his dad and brother where he started learning to weld at the young age of 13. He also worked for Bill Trosper and J.D. Riggs for several years. Chet enjoyed spending time fishing, hanging ut at the coffee shops with his family and friends. He really enjoyed going to family reunions and keeping in touch. Preceding Chet in death were his mother Beulah Jean Martin, brothers ray and Mark Mast, granddads Lloyd Mast, Chester Martin, Bib Davis and George Aday; grandmothers Stella Marin and Dorothy Aday, great grandparents A.V. Doan and Minnie Doan, uncles Bill and Bob Mast and aunt Alice Mills. Chet is survived by his father Gordon "Bud" and step-mom Pamela Mast of Eads, Charles Mast, Julie Bishop, Sandy Tate, Rainie Calwell of Florence, Kira Cayton of Enid, Oklahoma, nephews Robert Calwell and Marc Mast of Florence and numerous great nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins. Funeral services for Chester Leroy Mast were held on Sunday afternoon, October 17, 2004 at 2:00 o’clock at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Eads. Longtime family friend L.D. Nelson officiated the services. Philomene Liesen played the piano with Mary Eikner and Sylvia Weeks singing "The Unseen Hand" and "Amazing Grace". Casket bearers were: Tom King, Tim Weeks, Cecil Harris, Pete Koch, Chuck Davis, Gary Rehm and John Negley. Honorary casket bearers were: Marc Mast, Robert Caldwell, George King, Ricky Pfingston, Roger Holter, Harold Pfingston and Marion Mast. Final committal services were held at the Eads Cemetery. Brown Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |
