Kiowa County Sheriff’s ReportOctober 29, 2004 The Kiowa County Sheriff's Office is working with several jurisdictions and drug task forces in a narcotics distribution investigation which originated in Eads. September 28, David Scott Ward, 40, and Jason Robert McCullough, 20, both of Colorado Springs were arrested in Rocky Ford and charged with possession of ten ounces of marijuana and with intent to distribute. Charges were also filed for possession of a schedule II controlled substance crystal methamphetamine also with intent to distribute. Numerous items of drug paraphernalia were also taken into custody. After a controlled purchase using a confidential informant was made, Rocky Ford Police Department officers stopped the pair and arrested them. The narcotics were then seized, which a street value of nearly $900.00 in marijuana and $900.00 in methamphetamine.

Participating in this cooperative effort were the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force, Rocky Ford Police Department and the Kiowa County Sheriff's Office. The Kiowa County Sheriff’s Office greatly appreciates the help from these jurisdictions on the war of drugs and illegal narcotics. The Kiowa County Sheriff's Office continues to aggressively investigate illegal drug activities in Kiowa County. More arrests are expected stemming from this investigation.
