Kiowa County is a large and diverse
county with equally diverse employment segments needing additional options
while supporting our present employers. A huge task for all of us, we need
your ideas and suggestions as well as support.
Agriculture has, is and shall
continue to be a large and vital part of our economy and employment. We
have the beginnings of fresh industry and ideas such as the Kiowa Growers
and Jackson Property as examples. Kiowa Growers have seen things moving
slower than projected, yet progressing with newer products while keeping
the earlier ones in production and correcting early problems. The Jackson
property opens doors for many possibilities from Assisted Living to the
not thought of. What growth and impact shall the Sand Creek Battlegrounds
have? What about renewable electricity generation? Exciting times for all
of us, working together and positively promoting our

county! The general public is very
interested in our history, agriculture, architecture, arrowhead hunting,
birds, hunting, boating, and fishing. We have two fine K-12 schools with
room to grow. How many of us have been to see the KA Hall in Sheridan
Lake, the bus tragedy monument, visited our active senior citizen groups,
many miss the county Fair which is your Fair. Perhaps many of us need to
return to the former practice of Sunday drives on county roads and see the
sights of our county from east to west and north to south. How many have
noted the beautiful fall colors in our area instead of special trips to
the foothills and mountains? Do we need to market our supply of prairie
dogs and tumbleweeds? Have a great fall and harvest everyone!
Thank you for your time during the
campaign, your support, encouragement and allowing me the opportunity to
seek your vote for county commissioner.
