Wild Horse Roundup

Thursday was sale day for us as we took our calves to Burlington and we thought they done very well. Lee Ann, Jessi and Jenni went along and enjoyed it and took pictures so when they get home instead of having to make up lessons they have to give a report about their trip and show the pictures. On Friday they went to Colorado Spring to shop. They met Jay and Patty Sinnes at a restaurant and had lunch together. They also visited John and Ruth Sinnes and their daughter Bonnie.

We stopped at Kit Carson after the sale and watched volleyball vs. Plainview. When I went out in the hall a fellow asked me if I was Curtis Shrimp and he said he was Don Weber of Sheridan Lake. His three daughters said they read my column sometimes. When I looked at a Denver paper this morning (Sunday) there on the front page was a large write up about Sheridan Lake and Plainview School. Very interesting and Don Weber was mentioned.

We had a fantastic weekend in Denver. To start with we were driving on C470 and all of a sudden the traffic just the same as stopped in all three lanes. It lasted for almost two miles and then there laid a big truck on its side in the ditch, but emergency vehicles was causing the slow down. Steve drives that every day and quite often sees such stuff. Now the fun part: Steve had tickets to the Country Dinner Playhouse for ten of us. I just love music and this was Cole Porter music. There was a good buffet meal and an evening of great acting. One of the singers autographed his picture in a program pamphlet that lay on our table. You know I have often said you can run, but not hide. I walked out in the lobby and a fellow came up and said hello Curtis. It was Jim Brown of Arapahoe. It’s a small world. I didn’t recognize him, but Lee Ann did.

We got home about 8:30 this evening, but Lee Ann and girls stayed the night with her friend Ann who was her assistant coach when she coached in Hugo. Ann will bring them as far as Deertrail tomorrow (Monday) evening and Marty will meet them.
