Hunter Education Course

A Hunter Education Course is being offered in Eads. The course will use the Home Study Workbook or Internet Home Study Course (student’s choice). Students will complete the workbook or internet course (must turn in completed workbook or internet tests on Saturday) then attend a one-day outdoor skills workshop.

The day long session will be held Saturday, October 30 beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Hunter Education Range Clubhouse on the Fairgrounds in Eads. In the outdoor session, students will practice safe firearm handling, shoot .22 rifles & archery, and practice game trailing, map and compass and other outdoor skills. Students will complete the course by taking a 50 question, multiple-choice, true and false test. All firearms, ammunition and archery equipment will be provided. Students will be on their own for lunch. The cost of the course is $5.00 per student and must be paid to obtain the registration packet and workbook.

Registration packets and further information are available at the Kiowa County Public Library, or the Farm Service Agency Office in Eads. All persons born after January 1, 1949 are required to complete a Hunter Education Course before purchasing a hunting license in Colorado.
