Hunter Education Course

A Hunter Education Course is being
offered in Eads. The course will use the Home Study Workbook or
Internet Home Study Course (student’s choice). Students will complete
the workbook or internet course (must turn in completed workbook or
internet tests on Saturday) then attend a one-day outdoor skills workshop.
The day long session will be held
Saturday, October 30 beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Hunter Education Range
Clubhouse on the Fairgrounds in Eads. In the outdoor session, students
will practice safe firearm handling, shoot .22 rifles & archery, and
practice game trailing, map and compass and other outdoor skills. Students
will complete the course by taking a 50 question, multiple-choice, true
and false test. All firearms, ammunition and archery equipment will be
provided. Students will be on their own for lunch. The cost of the course
is $5.00 per student and must be paid to obtain the registration packet
and workbook.
Registration packets and further
information are available at the Kiowa County Public Library, or the Farm
Service Agency Office in Eads. All persons born after January 1, 1949 are
required to complete a Hunter Education Course before purchasing a hunting
license in Colorado.
