Chamber Seeks Nominations for Citizen, Volunteer of the
Year
By Dennis Pearson

The Eads Chamber of Commerce is
accepting nominations for the Citizen of the Year and the Volunteer of the
Year awards that are presented annually to recognize outstanding community
members for their achievements.
The awards will be presented at the
annual Volunteer Fire Department chili supper that kicks off the Holiday
season each December. The Volunteer Fire Department chili supper will be
held this year on Tuesday, December 7th at the Eads fire station.
Citizen of the Year nominations
should be long time residents of Kiowa County that have consistently
demonstrated a continued commitment and dedication to the community by
their deeds and actions over the years in order to better the lives of
people in our community or elsewhere. Long time service to the community,
dedication to a specific project, and enhancement of community values are
just a few of the criteria used to select an individual for this award.

The Volunteer of the Year award is
designed to honor an individual who selflessly devotes time on a volunteer
basis to a project, activity, or organization that enhances the quality of
life in Kiowa County for its residents. Unlike the Citizen of the Year, an
individual may be nominated for this award that may or may not be
relatively new to the community but who has chosen to give his or her time
freely to the community on a volunteer basis.
All nominations for these two awards
must be received by the Eads Chamber of Commerce no later than Wednesday,
November 17, 2004. All nominations should be mailed to the Eads Chamber of
Commerce, PO Box 163, Eads, CO 81036, or may be hand delivered to any
member of the Eads Chamber of Commerce.
