September 21, 2:05 p.m., Highway 96 at mile marker 165. James C. Finley, 23, of Arvada was summonsed in to Kiowa County Court for driving a motor vehicle when under restraint (revoked) and speeding. (Submitted by Deputy Christie)
September 27, 7:10 a.m., Highway 287 at mile marker 122. Kyle Hietbrink, 21, of Vernon, Texas, was pronounced dead after a head-on collision. According to the incident report, Hietbrink was traveling southbound when his vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a northbound vehicle. (Submitted by Kiowa County Sheriff’s Office)
September 28, 7:00 a.m., 1101 Hickman Street, Eads. Martin L. Martinez, 20, of Eads was arrested on charges of harassment, domestic violence and third degree assault. Martinez was transported to Prowers County Jail and held without bond. (Submitted by Sheriff Frazee)
