Last Race of the 2004 Season at May Valley SpeedwayOctober 1, 2004 A great turnout of race cars and trucks as drivers were trying their best to gain points for the track championship in each of the five classes. First up were the Hobby Trucks with #92 Keith Eldon Nidey coming in first over #20 Brock Hall in the heat race. Brock Hall also took the money in the Cash Dash. Next came the Econos in two heat races. #30 Al Rodi was first over #17 Jim McEndree in the first heat race. #21 Robbie Wilger came in first over #66 Wade Dewey. #17 Jim McEndree took home the cash in the Cash Dash. The Mini Stocks were up next with #61 David Guinn first over #2 Michael Miller in the First Heat Race. #4 Matt Burkhart was first in Heat #2 with #40 Parke Hawkins in second. #4 Matt Burkhart was also first in the Cash Dash. The Super Stocks saw #6 Joe Shoup in first with #68 Brad Hopkins in second in their first heat race. #9 Randy Tipton was first over #20 Shawn Salisbury in Heat #2. #9 Randy Tipton from Wesken, Kansas was first in the Cash Dash. Last but certainly not least were the Hobby Stocks. #97 Jimmy Jenkins was first over #41 Marco Macias in the First Heat Race with #43 Cameron first over #24 Seth Salisbury in Heat #2. Cameron was also first in the Cash Dash. During intermission the Jr. Fan Kids (all kids from ages 6-13) participated in a foot race. In the 6-9 age group, Kyle Dupree was first with Jorge Barrera in second. In the 10-13 age group, Eric Harrington was first with Jacob Osbourne in second. Each of the first place winners received a trophy sponsored by Paul’s Body Shop.

As people came to the track they were given a ballot. They were to vote for their favorite drives in three categories: Sportsmanship, Most Improved, and Best Kept Up Car. The results will be given at May Valley Speedway’s Awards Banquet on October, 23. Now the real racing began as they would race for more points and money. First were the Hobby Trucks with #20 Brock Hall in first over #90 "Papa" Keith Nidey in second. The Econo’s were next with eleven cars on the field. #21 Robbie Wilger took the win with #73 Justin Rainwater in second place. The Mini Stocks had their 40 lap main event that was promised on one of the rainout dates. After #31 Shreena Lopez rolled her car, racing continued with #97 driven by Angel Munoz was the first place winner with #40 Parke Hawkins in second. The Super Stocks saw a spectacular crash involving #3 Brian Mauch and #67 Jeff Woller. However, #5 Andy Woller took the win with #9 Randy Tipton in second place. The Hobby Stocks saw #97 Jimmy Jenkins in first over #43 Cameron Austin. This concluded the evening’s events; however, the track champions were determined by the total points earned.
