Dryland Cropping Systems Field Day

Cooperative Extension will be conducting a dryland crops field day on the
Burl Scherler farm. The field day will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday,
September 29th. The Kiowa County location is on the corner of road W and
57.
Dryland sorghum production will be
discussed by Kevin Larson from the Plainsman Research Center at Walsh. Ron
Meyer, CSU Agronomy Specialist for the Golden Plains Area, will discuss
sunflower production. Other topics that will be highlighted will be
harvest timing of sorghum/Sudan forages and the use of biological methods
for weed control.
Supper will be served following the
field tour provided by cooperating companies and affiliates.
