Sheridan Lake Livewires 4-H August Meeting

President, Cassie Harris called the meeting to order at 7:11 on August 3, 2004. The following members were present: Lana Weber, Megan Linder, Shelby Harris, Vincent Koeller, Katie Sanders, Miranda Weber, Lauren Weber, Tyler Harris, Lyaneah Segers. Leaders Gail Koeller and Pete Rohlman were also present.

The American Pledge was led by Lyaneah. The 4-H Pledge was led by Miranda.

Roll Call was your favorite past time.

Megan read the minutes and they were approved.

Shelby gave the treasurer’s report.

Gail gave a report from the Kiowa County Council. Any member interested in being nominated for a council office needs to let her know by August 17.

Old Business being discussed was a theme for the Achievement Banquet in November. The theme voted and approved on was "Surfs Up With 4-H". Lana said she would ask the 9th and 10th grade classes if they would be interested in setting up, cleaning up and serving the meal and drinks. We also discussed times to practice our dance for state fair. Tuesday, August 17 @ 7:40 a.m. was approved as our first practice.

 

New Business being discussed was the State Fair Exhibits. They are due at the Extension Office August 17. Gail will be going to the council meeting that evening and said she would take projects to Eads if they met her at the junction.

The Float Committee is: Vincent, Cassie and Gail.

Fair Booth Committee is Miranda, Lauren, Susan and Gail

Livestock Record Books are due September 2nd (the final date is October 14th) at the Extension Office. Some members asked if they could get some help in filling the books out. Gail said she would help them and set a date for Friday, August 20 at 9:00 a.m. at the Plainview School.

Council Representative for the August 17th meeting will be Cassie and Vincent.

Club thank you notes were signed and the meeting was adjourned at 8:58.
