I hope that everyone had a great summer. I know I
did, even though it went by very quickly. School has started once again
for Plainview School. We had a spectacular pep rally before we began class
meetings and classes. I think that it will be a first day of school to
remember. I would also like to welcome all of the foreign exchange
students to southeastern Colorado. David Kober is staying with Darrel
Segers, Evelyn Kassel is staying with Michael and Sharon Arns, and Anne-Tiphene
Morice is staying with Harry and Kelly Freouf. David arrived on the 17th,
Evelyn arrived on the 20th, and Anne will arrive on the 24th.
Floyd and Wynona Barnes are hosting a foreign
exchange student, Rafael Mendonca, from Brazil. They picked him up on
Thursday.
On Saturday evening, Mary-Louise Huddleston,
Bernice Tuttle, Judy and Larry Tuttle, Larry and Barb Gitchell, Dick and
Sharon Scott, Hazel Woelk, and Burl and Cathy Scherler ventured to Chez W.
Duvall’s in Granada to celebrate Judy’s birthday.
Bernice Tuttle and Lindsey Jensen traveled to
Pueblo on Monday, August 16, for some shopping. They got Lindsey’s son,
Trey, school supplies.

Carl and Freda Schmidt hosted a visit from Oscar
and Veralda Roth of Illinois.
Deb Shivers traveled to Florida for a last-minute
vacation. She was lucky enough to see the Atlas rocket be sent to Mercury;
it was launched at 2:00 a.m. She had a wonderful time in Florida visiting
old friends and soaking up the sun.
Sherell and Linly Stum had the Stum crew over on
Thursday night to wish Kami goodbye, since she heads to college soon. They
had supper at Linly and Sherell’s house later that night.
Please feel free to give me a call with any news
that you might have. Thank you!
