Kiowa Creek Estates Now Available To Public

Kiowa Creek Estates, the land formerly known as the Jackson property and purchased last year for development by the non-profit Kiowa County Economic Development Foundation (KCEDF), is now available for purchase by the public in parcels ranging from one-half acre to 20 acres.

Current development plans outline approximately 79 home sites on the property. Water, sewer, and electricity will be made available to the home sites located nearest the southern edge of Eads at the south end of Slater Street. Larger land parcels further to the south, east, and west will have water and electricity, but will require septic systems. Commercial tracts and highway frontage is also available to buyers and all inquiries are welcome.

The home sites are currently undergoing final engineering approval and all lots will be surveyed. KCEDF is requesting that anyone interested in purchasing one or more of these land parcels contact Marilyn Baxter at 719-438-5629 and submit a brief letter of interest outlining their plans for the land they are interested in purchasing (building a home, future development, speculation, horse property etc). All land parcels will be sold on a first-come basis.

In addition to home sites and small acreages, the Kiowa County Assisted Living Complex will be located on four acres of the land at the south end of Maine St. Open space, walking trails, development of a wetlands area, and enhancement of Jackson’s Pond for recreational use is also part of the overall plan for the property.

The opening of Kiowa Creek Estates marks a milestone in Eads as being the first rural development project to occur in decades in Kiowa County. While covenants have been adopted to protect the land purchaser, a great deal of freedom will prevail as buyers get a taste of rural country living while remaining close to town.
