August 6, 1:00 a.m., 13^th and Maine Streets, Eads. Matthew Bontrager Bain, 22, of Eads was issued a citation into Eads Municipal Court for careless driving after striking a sign at the intersection of 13^th and Maine Streets. (Submitted by Undersheriff Richardson)

August 9, 14:20 p.m. Eric D. Garver, 32, of Cheyenne Wells was arrested on an outstanding Kiowa County warrant for fraud by check. Garver was released after posting a $500 bond. (Submitted by Captain Ray)
