Wild Horse Roundup

We all owe a big thank you to Ervin Mitchek’s crew for putting a fence around our cemetery. They also put a sign on tall poles above the name McIntire Cemetery 1908 for John McIntire who donated the land. He came to this are in the 1870’s. The ranch Marty has was his many years ago. He had a big band of sheep that got wiped out when Big Sandy flooded. He is buried in the southwestern corner of the cemetery and I believe he died in 1931.

Well, today was fair day and Marty and I went and watched a nice parade. It was nice to see our friends Garland and Ruby Gibbs, the parade marshals. We wondered around visiting and looking at exhibits. We enjoyed the bean dinner and watched the rodeo until I could tell the seats weren’t going to get any softer.

From the looks of the cars at Bill Skinners house all three of his brothers must be home. Between his computer and making those beautiful belt buckle bolos for ties he keeps busy. His lights are on quite late a lot of the time.

We talked to Lee Ann yesterday and she said they took a weeks vacation and one of the things they did was go to the highest mountain in northern Europe. There was a group of people with a guide and they climbed the mountain all roped together. When they got to the top they couldn’t see anything as it was snowing so hard. They had their dog along and they had to put a harness on it instead of just a collar and lead rope in case he slipped he would have choked. They went to an amusement park there the kids rode a rollercoaster for the first time. Kirsti rode one over here during senior sneak. It sounds like work to me.

It’s 7 p.m. Sunday, we just got home from attending the Sinnes’ open house. There were about 80 people coming and going. We ate lunch before we got there so we missed the bratwurst sandwiches. Oh well, we had cake and cold drinks. We had lots of visiting and for me trying to figure out the young relation of which there are quite a few. There was a lady reporter from the newspaper and photographer, but I’m sure it won’t hit the headlines.
