Quitting Snuff?
August 6, 2004
Are you trying to quit using
smokeless tobacco and finding it difficult? The first step to a successful
quit attempt is to assess your addiction.
If you use chew daily, use a
high-nicotine brand such as Copenhagen, have friends who use chew, or have
used smokeless tobacco for years, then chew or snuff is a big part of your
life. You may want to use nicotine gum or patches if you have tried to
quit and found it difficult. You may also want to avoid your friends who
chew or dip for the first few days after you have quit.
The Kiowa County Nursing Service has
Quit Kits available to those wanting to quit, and these do include snuff
alternatives that could help you beat the addiction. For more information,
call (719) 438-5782.
