Kiowa County 4-H Fashion Revue Winners Named

Brandy Turcotte and Matea Mayo won Grand and Reserve Grand Champion Seniors at the 4-H Fashion Revue Monday night. Both will represent Kiowa County at the state 4-H Fashion Revue in Pueblo on August 21. Brandy modeled a Decorate Your Duds outfit decorated with playing cards.

Matea’s Decorate Your Duds ensemble was a tribute to her sister Lara. Other Senior models were: Jessica James (clothing), Brandy Turcotte (clothing), Milly Spady (DYD), Shalyn Laird (clothing), Cassie Harris (clothing), Brandy Turcotte (crocheting), and Milly Spady (clothing). All received blue ribbons.

Competition was also stiff in the Intermediate division. Chevaun Glover was named Grand Champion model, and Shelby Harris Reserve Grand Champion. Chevaun modeled a blue and white clothing project, while Shelby modeled a Decorate Your Duds project embellished with ladybugs. Other Junior models were:

Jennifer Negley (clothing), Megan Linder (crocheting), Dally Lessenden (DYD),Tara Spady (DYD), Shelby Harris (clothing), and Dally Lessenden (clothing). All won blue ribbons.

Five Junior models competed. All did an outstanding job. April Turcotte and Katie Sanders were chosen Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion. Both modeled garments they had crafted in Decorate Your Duds. Other Junior models were:

 

Marisa Dixon (clothing), Alicia James (DYD), and Kelcie Smith (clothing). All won blue ribbons.

Two Cloverbud models stole the show. MacKenzie Jones and Lakota Roberson modeled garments they had decorated. Both received participation ribbons as Cloverbuds in non-competitive.

Prairie Queen 4-H Club hosted the competition, and helped in many ways during the judging and public show. Milly Spady and Jessica James served as M.C.’s. Tyler Salisbury, Lakota Roberson, Remington Brandy, and Jayce Negley led pledges.

Brian James narrated the Fashion Show, while Jace Roberson, Cardon Brandt, and Cody Fry served as escorts. Andrea Williams and Carrie Roberson assisted Extension Agents Bruce Fickenscher and Kaye Kasza with award presentations.
