East End Events

I’m sorry that I haven’t been writing the column lately. I have been across the country watching softball games, getting ready for Exhibit Day in Eads, and preparing for school. The Eads clinic will be doing sports physicals as follows: High school girls will be on August 11th at 1:30 p.m. High school boys are on August 12th at 1:30 p.m. Since junior high physicals are offered after school starts, JH athletes can get them done on the 11th and 12th if parents call ahead.

Wednesday, Frank and Lynda Gronwald, and Ashlea and Grant Lucas, from Oklahoma, stopped to visit with Susan Greenfield. Lynda used to teach at Plainview.

On Thursday and Friday, Susan Greenfield and Lesa Nolan traveled to Colorado Springs to see Tava Foster, Lesa’s niece, and her son Gunnan. They helped Gunnan celebrate his 1st birthday and shop.

CEF had their summer celebration for the 5-day clubs on Sunday.

Ralph and Mary Young will be visiting the Gitchell’s this week. Some family friends from Texas are visiting the Gitchell’s this weekend as well.

Brian Bergerren and family, Kelvin Schmidt and family, and Tim Harris and family went on a motorcycle camping trip last week.

Last week John and Sue Sutthin came to visit Verna Hallock. Brad and Whitney Hallock later joined them.

Peg Weber traveled to Denver to watch Eric Clapton play in concert at the Pepsi Center on the 24th.

Exhibit Day was Monday, August 2nd at Eads. Congratulations to everyone; you all did a suburb job.

Once again I would like to congratulate Lauren Weber for doing an awesome job at the regional game in Chaffee, Missouri. Lauren also got the Commissioners Award. Congratulations, Lauren!!

Please feel free to give me a call at 719-729-3533 if you have any news.
