Carney receives scholarshipAugust 6, 2004 Jamie Carney received the Clyde Carstens/McDaniel Scholarship. The scholarship will cover the cost of tuition at Adams State College. Carney is a senior majoring in Secondary Education/Social Studies with a minor in coaching. She graduated from Plainview High School, and is the daughter of Randy and Jan Carney. Dr. John McDaniel, professor of history, started the program through the ASC Foundation by which he teams up with ASC alumni, former colleagues, and current faculty to create scholarships. Together, Dr. McDaniel and Clyde Carstens created the Clyde Carstens/McDaniel Scholarship. Carstens was a history/government major at ASC. Carstens continued his education after ASC and became an attorney at law.
