Kiowa County 4-H Council Report

The Kiowa County 4-H Council met on July 19, 2004 at the extension office in Eads. The meeting was called to order at 7:09 pm by president Milly Spady, with the American Pledge and 4-H Pledge being said. The following people attended the meeting: Jace Roberson, Brandy Turcotte, Dally Lessenden, Jessica James, Vincent Koeller, Miranda Weber, Kaye Kasza, P.J. Lessenden, Danielle Jones, Carol Spady, Gail Koeller and Bonnie Lessenden.

The Minutes of the June 28, 2004 Council meeting were read and approved. The Treasurer’s Report was approved.

Milly gave a report on the County Contests she said we need to have more participation in this next year.

Jessica gave a report on the Exchange Trip agenda.

Prairie Queen will be having their Club Tour on July 25, Haswell Milemarkers will be having their Club Tour on July 18 and August 3rd. Sheridan Lake Livewires had their Club Tour on July 17.

Under old business the Fair concession ctand cchedule was discussed and approved with the following times each club is responsible for:

Wednesday, September 8, 2004 - Set-Up: Council Officers. 6: 00 p.m. – Close Haswell Milemarkers.

Thursday, September 9, 2004 - 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Sheridan Lake Livewires. 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Prairie Queen.

Friday, September 10, 2004 - 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Haswell Milemarkers. 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Sheridan Lake Livewires.

Saturday, September 11, 2004 - 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Prairie Queen. 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Haswell Milemarkers.

Sunday, September 12, 2004 - 1:00 p.m. – Clean-Up Council Sponsored Members.

 

Another item under old business that was discussed was the Shooting Sports Leader Training. It was approved to pay the registration fee for the first time certification.

New Business was the discussion of a Sheep & Goat Shearing Workshop. A list of members who could use this service was given to Kaye.

4-H Council Officer nominations will be in August.

4-H members, volunteers, their families and anyone you would like to invite to the Six Flags Elitch Gardens on July 30th, 31st and August 1st, 2004. They will be offering reduced price tickets for admission. Contact your Club Leaders for the forms needed. The order forms and payment needs to be in Denver by July 23, 2004.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:56 p.m.

August 2 - Exhibit Day! 10:00 a.m. interviews, 7:00 p.m. Fashion Revue, Food Auction & Awards, Community Building.

August 9 - Horse Performance Day, 5:00 p.m. Fairgrounds.
