Babb Reunion Held June 13

July 23, 2004

The 18th annual Babb Bash was held June 13, 2004 at the Heritage Center in Crowley with Charlie and Dorothy Marriott and children as hosts. The Heritage Center is the old Crowley school building, which has been refurbished into a lovely meeting hall complete with a nice new kitchen. A tour was taken of the Museum, which is located in the basement. Mrs. Norene Aydelotte (mayor of Crowley) was kind enough to open up the museum and serve as tour guide for our enjoyment.

Forty-five family members and friends enjoyed the potluck dinner. Many pictures were taken and many previous years pictures were enjoyed.

The Walter Babb descendents present were: Justin Marriott from Canon City and friend Jessa Lewis from Penrose; Steve and Lorene Marriott, Jenny, Jamie, Vanessa and Chris from Louisville; Charlie and Dorothy (Babb) Mairiott from Olney Springs; Delmas and June (Babb) Beaman of Sheridan Lake; Walter Ely and his care giver Steve Flower from Lamar; Mike and Bertha Marriott, Michelle Mairiott and fiancé Casey Myers all from Canon City; Deanna Babb of Cheraw; newly weds as of April 4 Karlton and Annette (Ely) Halbert of Boerne, Texas.

Descendents of Richard Babb present were: Everett and Mary Babb; John, Debbie, John Jr. and Nathan Canaday; Pat Babb; Daniel and Leah Meister, Gavvian and Danielle all of La Junta; Nancy Noller and friend Jim Rogers from Grand Junction.

Clara (Babb) Wheeler of Las Animas was there with her children and grandchildren: Gene and Doris (Wheeler) Stuart; Paul and Faith Stuart, Karlee and J.D. all of Las Animas; Curt and Linda Wheeler of Denver.

Lois J. Hall (wife of the late Wayne Babb) from Las Animas was also present.

Plans are already made to have the Babb Bash again next year on the second Sunday of June.
