Wild Horse Roundup

I was told that Randy Wilson and Jake Trahern traveled to Hawaii to play ball. The team they were on won so that was nice. They met kids from other states and made new friends. They paid their own way so they didn’t have to have a fundraiser. I’m sure it was a nice trip. We spent a week on the big island near Hilo quite a few years ago and it was beautiful.

People must be wanting to save on gas with their traveling. This afternoon I counted 18 motorcycles in a group and about a mile back was three more. They sure don’t dally along.

Darwin Bolinger stopped by Wednesday on his way to Westminster to see his sister, Sue, who has been fighting cancer for quite some time. She lost her fight Friday when she passed away. We will miss her as she seemed a part of our family. She had been staying with her son, Dale. Her brother, Whitey called Lee about it. I understand there will be no services as was her wish. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

We had a surprise phone call this evening from our grandson who is now living and working in Old Mexico. He is working in an orphanage. He said everything was going well except they are living in a small house until theirs is ready. They have two small children.

Will wonders never cease? Friday evening the rains came and when they stopped we had 2.45 inches, and at the ranch 1.60. It really rained hard and filled all the low places. It made the creek for just a short ways, but it took out a creek gap for Marty and I to fix. Isn’t it wonderful, but north Naugles had 0.24 inches and Lonnie Johnson had 0.10.

Thursday was club day and Susi Paintin was the hostess and she had a great meal. As usual with all the tings the other ladies bring it sure hits the spot. There was, as usual, a nice crowd.

Marty seen one of her calves that got to curious, it got too friendly with a porcupine. It didn’t get any quills in its nose, just its face. We got it in and she pulled them out after clipping the ends.
