Obituary-Roena Faye Barlow-Kortan 76

Roena Faye (Hirschler) Barlow-Kortan, age 76, passed away on July 10, 2004 in Denver, Colorado.

Roena was born on December 8, 1927 to Abram & Flora (Maddy) Hirschler in Eads, Colorado.

Roena married Gerald Barlow on December 9, 1946 in Eads, to this union two sons were born. On June 4, 1971 Roena married Jim Kortan in Denver.

She grew up in Eads and graduated from Eads High School in 1945. In 1986 when she was 67 years old Roena attended Parks Junior College. She maintained a "B" average, and graduated with a degree in Business and Word Processing.

Roena was a past State President of Fraternal Order of Eagles #3226. She taught Sunday School at the Merritt Methodist Church for 25 years. Roena enjoyed doing crafts of all kinds, going to craft shows. She also enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought her much joy.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ralph, Elvin, and Elvis Hirschler and sisters Pearl Mumford, Freda Davis, and Leila Shankle.

Roena is survived by sons Jerry Barlow and wife Doris of Thornton, and Terry Barlow and wife Lillian of Colorado Springs; sister Grace Weisdorfer of Limon; four grandchildren: Terry Barlow II, Tanya Munsee, Tammy Barlow, and Tiara Barlow; two great grandchildren: Evin & Caiden and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to the family.

Funeral services will be held at the Love Funeral Home in Limon, Colorado on July 17, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Leslie White officiating. Burial will follow in the Eads Cemetery with graveside service by Tom Shaffer. Love Funeral Home of Limon, is in charge of the arrangements.
