July 1, 7:00 p.m., Highway 287 at mile marker 105. Richard Charles Henderson, 27, of Hinton, Oklahoma, was summonsed in to Kiowa County Court for speeding 95 miles per hour in a posted 65 zone. (Sumitted by Deputy LeFlore)

July 2, 11:20 p.m., Highway 287 at mile marker 112. Steven D. Lane, 43, of Tribune, Kansas, was summonsed in to Kiowa County Court for driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. (Submitted by Deputy LeFlore)

July 3, 11:28 a.m., Highway 287 at mile marker 109. Maria Fortuna Martinez, 58, of Longmont was summonsed in to Kiowa County Court for driving a motor vehicle when license under restraint/denied. (Submitted by Captain Ray)

July 4, 1:45 p.m., 940 County Road 41.5. A report was taken for a stolen horse. The incident was turned in to the brand inspector. (Submitted by Captain Ray)

 

July 4, 3:40, Highway 287 at mile marker 101. Nick Hai Lim, 18, of Westminster was issued a citation for speeding 88 miles per hour in a posted 65 zone. (Submitted by Captain Ray)

July 4, 10:00 p.m., Highway 287 at mile marker 113. Martin Garduno, 18, of Dumas, Texas, was arrested for displaying fictitious plates, driving a motor vehicle without a valid license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Garduno was later transported to Prowers County Jail in Lieu of a $300 bond. (Submitted by Deputy LeFlore)

July 5, 4:30 p.m., Highway 287 from Lamar to Eads. A high speed chase ended just south of the "three mile corner" east of Eads at mile marker 110. The pursuit started at the interchange of Highways 287 and 50 when Prowers County Sheriff’s Deputy Brad Frantz began the pursuit. According to the driver, Matthew S. Ryan, 19, of Maine, he gave up at the three mile corner due to a road block set up by Kiowa County Deputies. A spike strip was placed at the corner, and all traffic was blocked. Following a felony stop and arrest, Ryan was charged with vehicular eluding creating a substantial risk of bodily injury by operating a vehicle in a reckless manner, a class 5 felony; reckless driving; speeding 40 miles per hour or more over in a posted construction zone; driving a vehicle without a valid license; passing on the left when not clear to traffic; passing on a hill when view obstructed; and passing on the left when prohibited by signs and markings. Ryan was later transported to Prowers County Jail by the Colorado State Patrol and held on a $6,250 bond. (Submitted by Captain Ray)
