Community Marketplace Set to Resume
By Dennis Pearson
July 9, 2004
The Eads Chamber of Commerce has
announced that the Community Marketplace will resume Saturday, July 10th,
at Eads City Park from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. There is no charge to
participate in the Marketplace for either the sellers or the buyers. The
Marketplace will then continue every Saturday morning through the end of
September.
The Marketplace originated in the
summer of 2002 as a means for gardeners and any others with goods to sell
to gather at the park on Saturday mornings to offer home grown fruits and
vegetables, baked goods, flowers and crafts to buyers.

No license or permit is required for
sellers to participate in the Marketplace and no sales taxes need to be
collected on goods sold. The Department of Health and Environment does
require that all baked goods must be wrapped with plastic or foil at the
time of sale, and that eggs and fresh meat must be kept in an ice chest or
cooler until sold. Fruits and vegetables require no special handling.
The Eads Chamber of Commerce
encourages everyone to participate in the Marketplace and enjoy the
variety offered. For more information about the Marketplace please call
(719) 438-2007, or (719) 438-5629.
