Sheridan Lake Livewires June Report

The Sheridan Lake Livewires 4-H Club
meet at the KA Hall in Sheridan Lake on June 1, 2004 at 7:00 p.m.
President Cassie Harris called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m. with the
following members present: Lana Weber, Megan Linder, Shelby Harris,
Vincent Koeller, Katie Sanders, Miranda & Natalya Weber, Tyler Harris,
Jonathan, Brittany & Samantha Splitter, Jami Lane, Ryan Koeller and
leaders Pete Rohlman and Gail Koeller.
Kiowa County Council Reports were
given by Lana and Pete. They reminded us if we were interested in the
County Creative Cooks/Demonstration/Cake Decoration Contest on June 28,
the last registration date will be June 21 and the registration form is in
the Kiowa County 4-H News.
Committee Reports were given by the
following: Road Sign Reports: All the signs are done and up with the
exception of the Brandon signs. Gail said she would go help get the signs
up tomorrow if Megan and Tyler would help. They decided to put them up at
1:00 on June 2. A big thank you to the following, for helping to get this
HUGE project done: Miranda, Lana, Lauren, Natalya & Bob Weber, Katie,
Diane & Mark Sanders, Megan Fickenscher, Susan Greenfield, Cassie, Shelby
and Kim Harris, Debbie & Tyler Harris, Megan Linder, Jami Lane, Jonathan,
Brittany & Samantha Splitter, Blaine Shivers, Kacy & Lyaneah Segers,
Vincent, Ryan, Gail and Marvin Koeller. Cystic Fibrosis Reports: All the
fund raisers for CF are done. Yard Clean-Up Reports: Katie, Shelby,
Vincent, Lana and Megan gave reports on the yards their committees cleaned
and we are done with this project for now.
Old Business was the mailing of the
Ronald McDonald Pop Tabs. Lana said she would get them mailed this next
week.
New Business was setting a date for
our Club Tour. We voted to have the tour on Saturday, July 17, 2004 and to
go swimming at the Lamar swimming pool, Gail will call for information on
the pool. The route of tour will be announced as soon as the following
committees get them done: Cassie and Gail are on the food/paper product
committee. Gail will get the route done after contacting the Lamar pool.
The Kiowa County Horse Show will be
June 5 and our club is in charge of the concession stand. Work schedules
for the concession were e-mailed two meetings ago and copies were
available for anyone at this meeting.

The Kiowa County Council meeting on
June 28 is the same with a change in the time, it will start at 4:00 p.m.
Our club representatives, will be Vincent and Megan. The July 12 meeting
has been changed to July 19 at 7:00 p.m. Our club representative, will be
Vincent and Miranda.
Thank You Notes were discussed.
Gail reported, if the club was
interested we could go to Lamar Community College to the Cosmetology
Department and they would teach modeling skills, manicures, ect. this is
for all members. It was voted to go to LCC on July 6, 2004. The Club
should meet at BJ’s at 11:45 a.m. for dinner and go to LCC from 1:00-5:00
p.m. Each member attending needs to bring $7.00, the fee the Cosmetology
is charging. The club will be buying the members lunch.
The following demonstrations were
given: Shelby gave a demonstration, How To Tye-Dye, Miranda gave a
demonstration, How to Juggle, Natalya gave a demonstration, How To Catch A
Ball. Project Talks were given by the following: Jami- Global Citizenship,
Australia, Lana- Sewing, Megan- Crocheting
The meeting was adjourned at 8:43
p.m. Our next meeting will be our club tour on July 17th.
