Obituary-Opal Nicolls, 91July 2, 2004 Opal I. Nicolls, age 91, a resident of Loveland, Colorado since 1989 and formerly of Wild Horse, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2004 at the Sierra Vista Health Care Center in Loveland. She was a retired clerk and homemaker who loved gardening, crochet and needlepoint. Opal Irene Brandenburg was born on February 17, 1913 in Union Township of Cumberland County, Illinois to the late Calvin and Lilly (Rogers) Brandenburg. She attended and graduated from schools in Casey, Illinois. She married Secretes Berdet "Bud" Nicolls on January 15, 1935 in Vandallia, Illinois. Bud passed away on January 31, 1993. Opal is survived by her daughter: Dena L. (husband, Don) Rainwater of Loveland; her son: Ken E. Nicolls of Flagstaff, Arizona; two sisters: Ellen Mae Curley of Casey and Clorean Finney of Oblong, Illinois; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Nicolls was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her son: Ellis, three brothers, three sisters and a great-grandson. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses, in Colorado Springs. Private interment took place at Memorial Garden Cemetery in Colorado Springs. Memorials in Opal's memory may be made to the Sierra Vista Health Care Center, 812 Duffield Court, Loveland, Colorado 80537. Blessed be her memory. |
