Obituary-Winifred Delene Mohler 86Winifred Delene Knoll was born in Abilene, Kansas on June 9, 1917 to Arthur and Pearl Knoll. Winnie passed away as a result of kidney cancer and joined the other angels in Heaven April 30, 2004. Winnie’s life was filled with caring and compassion for others. After the death of her mother, she left high school to care for an invalid sister, manage her father’s household and raise two little brothers. One little guy pronounced Sis as "Ish" which became her nickname to her immediate family and then "Aunt Ish" to her nieces and nephews. In the early 1940’s she moved to Denver, Colorado to work with other "Rosie the Riveters" at Gates Rubber Company supporting the war effort. Winnie met and married Clyde Mohler in Colorado and spent many years raising their two children on a ranch south of Eads. In the 60’s and 70’s Winnie and Clyde both worked for Eads School. Winnie continued working for the school after Clyde’s death in 1976. In 1997, Winnie relocated to Escondido, California to be nearer family and enjoy the sunshine, however, her heart remained in Eads, and she always reminisced about home. And now she has come home, to be with our Daddy Clyde at the Eads Cemetery. We will miss all those great hugs and her sweet smile, as the grandkids and great grandkids lovingly remember her as Tiny Gram and Ladybug Gramma. Her special love seemed to be little kids, puppy dogs and flowers – not necessarily in that order. Winnie was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Mohler; her parents, Arthur and Pearl Knoll; a sister Margaret Knoll; a brother, PFC George Knoll, US Army Air Corps. Surviving is a brother and his wife, William H. and Alberta Knoll of Lakeport, California; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Irv Provencio of Escondido, California; a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Betty Mohler of Salem, Oregon; two nephews, Art and Kurt Knoll and their families of Santa Rosa, California; seven grandchildren: CPT Leigh Ann O’Connor USAF and husband, Kyle of Sedalia, Missouri; SFC Scott Hurley US Army and wife, Nicole of Monroe, Georgia; Wayne Mohler and wife, Terese of Lafayette, Oregon; Dale Mohler and wife, Shelley of Dayton, Oregon; Ron Turner and wife, Becky of Salem, Oregon; Cheryl Bruns and husband, Will of Salem, Oregon; Debbie Mohler of Salem, Oregon; 12 great grandchildren plus one more very soon.
