Sheridan Lake Livewires Keeping Busy

On May 4, 2004, the meeting was called to order by President Cassie Harris at 7:37 p.m. There were 14 members, two leaders, and three guests. The members were Katie Sanders, Jami Lane, Ryan Koeller, Kasy and Lyaneah Segers, Tyler, Cassie, and Shelby Harris, Megan Linder, Natalya, Miranda, Lana, and Lauren Weber, and Blaine Shivers. The leaders were Gail Koeller and Wanda Rholman. The guests were Carol, Milly, and Tara Spady.

Lyaneah lead the American Pledge and Lana lead the 4-h Pledge. Megan gave the reading of the minutes. There were no corrections made. Lauren made the motion to accept the minutes and Lana seconded it.

Shelby gave the treasurer’s report. She reported that for the month of April, we had a beginning balance of $2027.59. Total receipts were $41.32. Total expenses were $91.00. And outstanding checks were $11.36. Lana made the motion to accept the treasurer’s report. Natalya seconded it. There was one new bill. She needed to right a check for $16 to the Kiowa County Council.

Gail gave the council report. We are in charge of the concession stand at the horse show on June 5. The Jr. Rodeo is on June 19 & 20. The exhibit day division changes were accepted.

We then had committee reports. Gail gave the report on the YHEC shooting meet in Flagler. Her family traveled to Flagler on Saturday. Vincent had to take many test and shoot many different types of guns. In the archery, shotgun, riffle, and 22, he placed first.

We were given reports on the road signs. Everybody is done, but there are a few people who need to get them put up.

Shelby gave the CF bike and walk a-thon report. She said that her and her dad made small signs to put up at each mile.

Miranda gave the car wash report. She said that they are getting the supplies that we will need.

Blaine gave the BBQ report. He said that they really haven’t discussed what they need for it, and that the committee will get the things needed.

 

Next we went onto Old Business. The yard clean up day is May 7, and the make up day is May 14.

Following, we went onto New Business. We need to get the pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House to Lana before May 20.

The goat, market hog, and lamb weigh in day is on June 1, at 1:00 p.m.

The 4-h Camp will be June 7-9 at the Red Mountain Youth Camp.

Next council meeting, the representative will be Cassie and Lana. Cassie will vote.

This meeting, Lauren gave a demonstration speech on "How to give piggy back rides." And Blaine gave a project talk on "Woodworking."

Next meeting, demonstration speeches will be given by Natalya, Miranda, and Shelby. Project talks will be given by Lana, Jami, and Megan.

Lana made the motion to adjourn the meeting. Tyler seconded it. The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
