On Saturday, Mrs. Hopkins and Ms.
Greenfield took some of the 4th-6th graders to
Denver to a Rockies game. In order to go to the Rockies game, the children
had to meet either a reading goal of a certain number of pages or they had
to give a certain number of book reports each month. This began in
September and ended in April. The children that went were Natalya Weber,
Mikayla Schmidt, Kacy Segers, Wesley Arns, Zach Splitter, Katie Sanders,
Paige Specht, Jami Lane, Shelby Harris, Heather Arns, Joanna Specht,
Vincent Koeller, and Kirbi Stum. Jake and Mitzi Befort and John and
Cassandra Knight also joined them. Everyone would like to thank Larry
Gitchell for driving the bus to and from the game safely. Even though the
Rockies didn’t have a very good night, the kids enjoyed it a lot and hope
to go again next year.
I would like to welcome Lisa Hester
and her two sons, Kevin and Keith, to the community. They moved here from
Colorado Springs about two weeks ago. Kevin is in 3rd grade and
Keith is in 7th grade. They both really like the area. Kevin
has a honeybee farm and Keith is in the middle school band. Welcome to
Kiowa County!
That ends this week’s news. I am
going to end all of my articles with a deep thought or a quote. Remember
to give me a call. Thanks and have a great week.
