Senior Profile Felix Henke

Felix Henke - Felix is a foreign exchange student from Germany. He was born on November 19, 1986 in Essen, Germany and came to the United States, and specifically Plainview, in the fall of last year. His favorite class is Computers because they are doing fun things like creating a web page and, also, because it is very challenging. He also enjoys government, particularly when Mr. Pope, the teacher, is in a good mood. He has a very strong memory of being eight years old when he tried to steal some apples from an apple tree in a field. While up in the tree a herd of cattle surrounded it and he and his friend were too scared to come down from the tree. They were actually stuck there for a few hours until they brave and decided to jump and run. Here at Plainview his favorite memory comes from Homecoming week where the students had a lot of fun. He plans to return to Germany after graduating from Plainview High School and will still have two more years of high school there. After that he will go to college but isn't sure about the degree he'll pursue. In his many travels he has learned some lessons and wants the underclassmen to understand that it is best to "respect others, their beliefs, their looks, and their way of life." A lasting impression he would like to see on the east end of the county is a cafe where people could meet, talk, and eat every day.
