Eads FFA Participates in Career Development Events

On April 7th the Eads FFA Chapter, joined the neighboring chapters of the district to participate in the annual CDEs (Career Development Events). The District judging events were held in Lamar. CDEs focus strictly on student success, relating around careers based on agribusiness and agriscience industries. Students have an option of around 300 agricultural career choices and opportunities. The Chapter had a very successful day at the district contest. The following are the teams who participated and their results.
Meats Evaluation-Joe Andrew Bush. Ag Mechanics-Dustin Batterton, and Brandon Cordova. Land Classification-Sarah McCoin, and Delma Ramos. Livestock Evaluation-Vance Cole, Brad Rehm, Ashley Brown, Jace Roberson, AJ McCracken, Jennifer Lynn, and Hunter Uhland. The members chosen to attend State Contests by way of score are as follows, Vance Cole, Brad Rehm, Ashley Brown, and Jace Roberson. This team won the top Livestock team in the District. Vance Cole was awarded High Individual at the District level.
Horse Evaluation-Briana Kerfoot, Heather Miller, Darci Johnson, TJ Watts, and Levi Kraft. The members chosen to attend State Contest by way of scores were Briana Kerfoot, Heather Miller, TJ Watts, and Levi Kraft. The Horse Team won the top team in the District as well as the top team amongst the surrounding Districts.
Field Crops-Kelly Lindholm, Holli Watson, Adrienn Adamson, Rachel Brown, and Tasha Hueller. The members chosen to attend State Contests by way of scores were Kelly Lindholm, Holli Watson, and Adrienn Adamson. This team was also awarded top team in the District, with Kelly Lindholm being the High Individual.
Farm Business Management-Nick Barnard, Shawn Kraft, and Joshua Fry. This team was awarded the top team in the District as well.
Just a few weeks later on May 2nd those members chosen to attend the State Judging Contests all loaded up on the bus and headed to Fort Collins to give their best to try to win a State CDE Title. The following day on May 3rd the events began. The following are the state teams and their results: Meats Evaluation-Joe Andrew Bush, Jennifer Lynn, AJ McCracken, and Hunter Uhland. Jace Roberson received a bronze award for his individual scores.

Everyone had a great time at the State CDEs, the experience is literally like no other, and all the results are definitely something our Chapter is proud of!
