Wild Horse Roundup

Joe Schmitt and a friend of Strasburg stopped by for a few minutes Wednesday. It is always nice to see him and it makes us think back to baseball days when he lived in Eads. His cement business keeps him busy now. He was on his way to Flagler on business.

Jim and Billie Lafferty brought their pickup over Wednesday and picked up a load of our trash for the free day at the dump. How nice of them.

Today is the big day in Norway for Jessi and Jenni’s confirmation. They will have quite a few for dinner. I wish we could be there. They are supposed to call later so maybe I can write a little at the end of this.

Friday evening we went to Hugo to Kirsti’s drama class play. They done a great job of acting and they knew their lines without prompting. When the second act started I asked Marty where is Kirsti. She said she has been out there a lot of the time. I guess I wasn’t used to her being a boy.

I saw a poster about Bob Schecter and Liz Mattics retiring as teachers. It makes me think back when I was driving a school bus. I was asked to drive for the sneak trip one year to Old Mexico. Bob and Marge were sponsors and they done a good job and it was a fun trip. Some of the kids are still around and once in a while they mention it.

David Lafferty visited his folks, Jim and Billie, this weekend. He works for Frito Lay and I think he makes the bags they put the chips in.

Lee Ann just called and said Confirmation Day was wonderful. Marty made a video with Steve’s family and us taking part and the people really enjoyed it. Lee Ann said it was like having her family there. There were some tears shed by lee Ann and some of the friends that know us. The people enjoyed "Tumbling Tumble Weeds" and Kirsti and I singing "Take Me Out to the Ball game." I guess the girls received quite a bit of jewelry and money. Kirsti is busy with graduation cards. Lee Ann said people brought a total of nine cakes. I should have been there.
