East End Events

Hi! Many of you know me; however, let me introduce myself as your new East End Events column writer. My name is Lana Weber and I will be taking over the East End Events for Kami Stum. I am a freshman at Plainview High School and I am involved in 4-H, cheerleading, volleyball, basketball, track, student council, and knowledge bowl. I enjoy things like riding horses, talking, and meeting new people. If you have any news that you would like to see published, please call me at (719) 729-3533. Thank you.

Kami has done a wonderful job writing about the community for the past few years. Thank you, Kami, and good luck in the future and in everything that you do.

Now, for the news… May 1st was Plainview’s prom. We had a total of about thirty people show up for the dance and the after prom events which included paintball. Everyone had a great time. We would like to thank Sharon Frazee for donating the pizza and Fran Larrew for catering the dinner. It was really good. The Plainview junior class would like to thank everyone that helped to make the prom a success. Sharon Arns would like to thank the junior class parents - Leo and Kathy Specht, Bob and Peg Weber and Braden and Violet Lane for their part in making the night a memorable one for the kids. Thanks!!
