May Valley Speedway To Open Saturday Night

The 2004 racing season at May Valley Speedway, 8 miles North of Lamar, roars to life this Saturday, May 1 with an evening of testing and tuning for all classes of race cars.

Test and Tune night is quite important for drivers as they not only work out the bugs from their race cars but freshen up their driving skills as well.

At May Valley Speedway’s racing facility the work continues in preparation for opening night on May 1. The track surface has been carefully prepared and is ready for action. The big retaining wall that surrounds the track has received a fresh white coat of paint waiting to swap paint if someone gets to close.

This Saturday’s night of testing and tuning starts at 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Race fans are welcome to come and enter the pit area to watch. There is no charge for admission. The race cars that are participating will pay a $10 per race car fee. In the event that we should be so fortunate as to receive more, much needed rain, and it’s too wet for Saturday evening, testing and tuning will be held later on Sunday afternoon. For updates and current conditions you may call May Valley Speedway at (719) 336-9407 or visit our website at www.mayvalleyspeedway.com.
