Progressive FCE Club Meets

Margie Wiltfang was the hostess for the March 18th meeting of the Eads Progressive FCE club meeting. President Maxine Mays opened the meeting by sharing an interesting article about Ireland and traditional bread recipes.

The ladies answered roll call by telling about their favorite hymns and memories of that song. Maxine read a letter of thanks from an executive with Colorado Boys Ranch for donating money at Christmas for scholarships. He wrote that reviewers who have evaluated the Ranch said it is one of the best residential treatment facilities in the nation.

Under reports: Sis Howard reported that she has arranged to get a few bedspreads at a time from the Hospital to work on the damaged fringes. She discovered that it is not a matter of cutting the fringes off but using a ripper. Other ladies can assist her if they wish. She does the job at home. Margie told us about the State planning meeting in Fort Morgan and that she sent the large scrapbook and report to the officers which Sis Howard and Doris Lessenden and she made.

Doris discussed her plans for the April "Turn out Violence". The members signed the petition and approved other ideas she has for this movement. Sis had a wonderful program of how to use fabrics for seasonal decorations. She also brought many huge books on quilting and crafting for us to review which she had arranged on five tables in the senior center. Sis has a wealth of ideas and materials to entertain any crafter or seamstress.

Margie Wiltfang served refreshments and favors accenting the Shamrock theme. The next meeting will be April 15th at the senior center for those who might like to attend.
