Roll-over Claims Life of JuvenileMarch 19, 2004 A single-vehicle rollover crash March 10 resulted in injuries to two juveniles and claimed the life of an eight-year-old Kiowa County girl. Names of the victims were not officially released due to their age. According to information provided by Kiowa County Sheriff’s personnel, a light pickup driven by a 15-year-old female was southbound on County Road 37 south of County Road H around 9:40 p.m. The driver lost control, over-corrected, and the vehicle left the west side of the road, rolling 2 ¾ times. The eight-year-old was ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle’s occupants were transported to Weisbrod Memorial Hospital in Eads where the girl was pronounced dead by Dr. John Hadley, the county’s coroner. The driver and an 11-year-old male passenger, who were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, were treated and released. Alcohol is not suspected in the crash.
