Judges in Colorado have been
appointed by the Governor since 1966. During 1988, the legislature created
the commissions on judicial performance. The purpose of the local
commission is to provide voters with fair, responsible, and constructive
evaluations of judges seeking retention in general elections. The results
of the evaluations also provide judges with information that can be used
to improve their professional skills as judicial officers.
Members of the local commission are:
Robert Bledsoe, Darla Specht, Randa Davis-Tice, Patricia Daugherty,
Richard Widener, Don Steerman, Ethel Tempel, Karen Verhoeff, and Larry
Watts.
