Wild Horse Roundup

Monday Lee and I went to Eads and whenever we go there we always see Mike and Deb Lening. Mike at the bank and Deb at the courthouse. They took us to dinner and we had a good visit catching up on grandkids and our great grandkid. They seem like part of our family as they lived near us when Mike farmed for the Tallman’s and Lee Ann drove one of their big outfits.

The quilters have started quilting on the one that will be given away next fall. I was watching them and looking at small stitches and thinking how many of those and stitches there must be. Marty was just telling me she had finished her brand block for the cattlewomen’s quilt to be given away. All of this sewing reminds me of a saying my mother had. She said if you sewed on Sunday you would have to take every stitch out with your nose.

Well Friday was that day that seems to come around every year. Income tax so Marty and I went to Burlington. The lady that does ours don’t mess around and is done in a little while.

The Kit Carson boys won their game Friday evening, but the girls lost. I just heard the Kit Carson and Eads game and Carson won 52-45. It was pretty close most of the time.

Well it’s my bedtime, maybe in the morning I’ll have a weather report. Sunday at 10 a.m. there is a little moisture in the air, but it won’t make it very muddy.

Lee Ann called a while ago and said the weather was pretty nice with snow on the ground. Yesterday was bright sunshine glistening on the snow that was beautiful so they all went skiing. She was telling about getting Jessi and Jenni’s folk dresses made for their confirmation in May. They are very expensive and then their relation gives them sliver buckles and ornaments. The colors show what county they are from. Kirsti used Reastamor’s (grandma) dress when she was confirmed.
