Kiowa County 4-H Council Meets

March 5, 2004
The Kiowa county 4-H council met on
February 23, 2004 at the extension office in Eads. The meeting was called
to order at 7:02 p.m. by President Milly Spady. The following people
attended the meeting: Dally and P.J. Lessenden, Brandy and Pam Turcott,
Brenda Fickenscher, Kaye Kasza, Jessica and Dawn James, Carol Spady, Jace
Roberson, Lana Weber, and Gail and Vincent Koeller.
The Council received thank you notes
from Jennifer and Jace Negley.
Milly reported on the State Senate
Meeting and said that a dress code was discussed for the Youth Fest.
Jessica gave a report on the
Leadership Development Conference. Jessica attended different workshops
and had a good time; she would encourage other members to attend next
year. Milly, Jessica, Dawn, and Brenda attended.
Milly gave a report on the Youth
Fest she attended near Colorado Springs.
The Fun Festival will be March 5 at
6:00 p.m. at the Community Building. The theme will be "Over the Rainbow".

The Council voted to do the SECPA
dinner on March 25 at the Community Building.
Kaye reported a change in the Foods
Exhibit requirements, instead of 6 cookies, rolls etc., it is now 4
cookies, rolls etc.
There will be a "Youth in
Agriculture" presentation by Dr. Ron Hanson for 14-18 year olds. This will
be Friday, March 19, 2004, 2:00-3:30 p.m. at the Large Lecture Hall in the
Bowman Building at Lamar Community College. Please register by March 8 by
contacting your club leaders or the Extension Office.
The meeting was adjourned. Our next
Council meeting will be April 19, 7:00 p.m., Eads Extension Office.

p.m., Community Building, Eads, Prairie Queen host. March 8 - Leader
