Eads School Hires Two New Teachers at MidtermJanuary 23, 2004 Over the holiday break two new teachers were hired by the Kiowa County RE-1 Board of Education to replace the resignations of high school science teacher Leslyn Lang and music teacher John Taylor, both who resigned at the end of the first semester. Music: Bob Seay is no stranger to the community nor the school as he has lived in Eads for the past 19 years. He had an outstanding music program in Eads some twelve years ago and also instructed music at Plainview until their program was dropped a few years ago. For the past four years Mr. Seay has been a freelance writer where he mostly contributes to online publications and web sites. He has had a number of articles published in various media and will be an outstanding addition to the Eads staff. Seay has indicated that he gained a handful of new band students since the break and he is focused on providing a solid music foundation for the Eads students. His responsibilities involve grades K-12 and he says he has met and talked to more people in the last week than he saw in the entire four years as a freelance writer. Mr. Seay has two children in the school district including Steven, a senior at Eads High School, and Matt, a freshman at Eads High School.

Science & Math: Bruce Hallman has joined the Eads High School staff where he teaches Algebra I, Biology I & II, Earth Science, and Chemistry. He caught his student's attention on the first day of school when he brought his acoustic guitar to class and played some classic rock for them. If AC/DC is not enough to catch their attention, Mr. Hallman has had valuable experience successfully dealing with teenagers helping to start an alternative school for at-risk students on the front range. Within that school he developed the entire science curriculum and then became the school's principal. A microbiologist by trade, Hallman loves science and will bring an excitement to the science curriculum at Eads High School. His wife and five children live in Berthoud where he commutes back and forth on weekends. We wish the best for our two new teachers and if you see these two gentlemen on the street introduce yourself and make them feel welcomed.
